Sacrament of Baptism
The first sacrament that Christians receive is Baptism, a welcoming into the family of Christ. Baptism is the first of the sacraments of initiation and introduces a person into the community.
This Sacrament involves the pouring of water to symbolize both the washing away of sin and also the living water which Christ promises to deliver to those who follow him. The baptized receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit
Parents wishing to have their child or children baptized at St. Luke Church are required to attend a baptismal preparation session prior to Baptism. For more information or to register for a session, please contact Deacon Frank Hann at least 2 months in advance (860) 462-8032.
