Sacrament of Confirmation
During Confirmation, the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are strengthened. These gifts are accompanied by fragrant chrism oil. The feel and the smell of the oil remind the newly confirmed that the Holy Spirit has conferred blessings and sacred gifts.
For Young Adults, the Sacrament of Confirmation is administered in the Spring of 10th grade. There is a 2-year preparation process in grades 9 and 10 to prepare candidates for Confirmation. The formation process includes two years of classroom instruction as well as spiritual formation supported by service and retreat. Contact the Faith Formation Office for more information (860) 875-4951.
This Sacrament involves the pouring of water to symbolize both the washing away of sin and the “living water” which Christ promises to those who follow Him. Through Baptism, the newly baptized receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Parents wishing to have their child or children baptized at St. Luke Church are required to attend a baptismal preparation session prior to Baptism. For more information or to register, please contact Deacon Frank Hann at least two months in advance:
